What People Are Saying

“I am a digi tech and photographer who has been in many different darkrooms in various countries. What I look for is affordability and functional equipment. And Melbourne finally has a decent option!
The guys at Echo darkroom are super friendly, and the darkroom is very easy to navigate. If you are looking to print color not bigger than 8x10, that’s your spot.”

“I needed to use a colour darkroom to print some photos for an editorial.

The set-up echo has is great - it’s a very sweet private room, with everything you need to print. They also include access to an Epson flatbed so you can scan your prints, which makes for a really smooth workflow.

Their prices / hours are great, and the two people running the show are equally great. Jiaxi is very accommodating - she answered all my questions super promptly and thoroughly.

They’re currently only set for 10x8, but hoping to change that I believe - which it will be great if they can accommodate larger paper sizes.

All around 10/10
Thanks guys!”

“I recently attended a film developing workshop run at Echo Darkroom. It was so much fun and incredibly informative! We went through the entire process step by step, and learnt all about the equipment and materials used in the process. It was really cool being hands on and seeing the photos came to life from the camera. I could not recommend these legends more, they're incredibly experienced, professional, knowledgeable, and talented! Thanks for having me, would love to come visit again sometime soon :)”

“The C41 developing workshop was a really fun and fulfilling experience! Jiaxi and Benkosi were really welcoming and knowledgeable and they made the whole process feel more approachable. It was really exciting seeing the negatives come out of the tank. Highly recommend this workshop to everyone!”
